Last Updated: August 22, 2024
We at Team Robot, Inc. ("Team Robot", "Ask Mr. Robot", "Company", "we", "us", "our") know that our users ("you", "your") care about how your personal information is used and shared, and we take your privacy seriously.
By visiting or using the Website or Services in any manner, you acknowledge that you accept the practices and policies outlined in this Privacy Policy. Any capitalized terms used herein without definition shall have the meaning given to them in the Company Terms of Use.
This policy describes: what data we collect and why, how your data is handled, and your rights with respect to your data. We never sell your data.
What do we collect and why?
Our goal is to collect only what we need. This is what that means in practice:
User accounts
When you create an account on our Website, we ask for your email address and a username. We need an email address to ensure that you can receive password resets, invoices, and other essential communications. Your username is only used for display purposes, and we encourage you to not put personally identifiable information in your username.
If you purchase a premium subscription, our payment processors may ask you for additional information depending on the payment method chosen.
We will never sell your personal information to third parties, and we will never send you marketing emails or newsletters without your permission.
Billing information
If you purchase our premium subscription, you will be asked to provide your payment information. This information is submitted directly to our payment processor and never goes to Team Robot servers. We store a record of your transaction for the purpose of billing support and account history. The record that we store does not contain any of your payment information.
We use Stripe and PayPal for payments, analytics, and other business services.
These services collect identifying information about the devices that connect to their services,
including via cookies and similar technologies. Stripe and PayPal use this information to operate and improve the services they provide to us,
including for fraud detection, authentication, and analytics related to the performance of their services.
To learn more about Stripe, read their privacy policy.
To learn more about PayPal, read their privacy policy.
Geolocation data
We log the full IP address used to create an account and retain it to help prevent spam and fraud.
Anti-bot measures
We use Cloudflare Turnstile to prevent bot-driven login attempts and to reduce spam on some of our forms. Using such measures is essential to protecting you and our Services from attacks and spam. Turnstile will evaluate information from your browser (such as IP address, user agent, etc.) to try to detect if a bot or a real human is on the Website. We chose Cloudflare Turnstile for their stronger commitment to privacy than similar alternatives.
Cookies
We use persistent first-party cookies to enable essential behavior of our Website, such as remembering login information and your preferences. Some of our third party services may also use cookies. Please refer to our cookie policy.
Website activity
Whenever you interact with our Website, we automatically receive and record information on our server logs from your browser. Examples of such information we automatically collect may include IP Address, a unique user ID, device and browser types and identifiers, referring and exit page addresses, software and system type, and information about your usage of our services.
Examples of how we uses automatically collected information include to: a) remember your user information so that you will not have to re-enter it during your visit or the next time you access the website; b) monitor the effectiveness of marketing campaigns; c) monitor and store aggregate site usage metrics such as total number of visitors and pages accessed; d) and automatically update the Ask Mr. Robot application.
When we collect usage information (such as the numbers and frequency of visitors to the Website), we only use this data in aggregate form, and not in a manner that would identify you personally. For example, this aggregate data tells us how often users use parts of the Website, so that we can make the Website appealing to as many users as possible.
Voluntary correspondence
When you use our support contact form, email us directly, or otherwise contact us for questions or assistance, we keep that correspondence including your email address so that we have a history to reference if you ever need help in the future.
